In January, we were informed by Heather Leppla and the Dayton Association for Young Children Board of Directors that Dayton AYC is dissolving. The decision was made with the best interest of members in mind.

 

Heather and the Dayton AYC board have our utmost appreciation for their board service and leadership to our Association.

 

As you may be aware, NAEYC is undergoing a restructuring process, with the goal of providing stronger professional development, communications and relevant benefits to members. Many local affiliates will become chapters, leadership groups, etc. of a state or regional affiliate under this structure; some local affiliates, such as yours, have begun to dissolve in advance of this change.

For now, your membership has been reassigned to Cincinnati AEYC. Cincinnati AEYC is excited to welcome you to their affiliate and will be contacting you directly to describe future member engagement opportunities. New members will have access to all Cincinnati AEYC benefits and resources, and events will continue to be held in Dayton and the surrounding region on a regular basis.

 

NAEYC is committed to providing excellent member benefits at both the national and local level. You will continue to receive all national-level NAEYC benefits, including the journal of your choice, and news and events from Ohio and NAEYC. You will have the opportunity to select a local affiliate of your choice when you renew your membership.
